You would have never guessed cancer was eating through her body. She had this amazing way of hiding her tumors with beautiful scarves, polished nails, cute headpieces and funky hoodies. But on a deeper level, you would have never guessed she was in such excruciating pain because her smiles went on for miles.

I called her once to see how she was doing, and this is what she said to me, “Cin, He bends down to listen. Isn’t that so cool? Like, He actually cares enough about little ol’ me to actually lean in close. And because of that, I’ll keep on prayin’.”

My friend Kristen passed away on October 4th, 2013, and I miss her deeply, but I will always be grateful to her for reminding me that such a big God really does care about little ol’ me (and you).

So be encouraged today, you are not forgotten. He bends down to listen because He bends down to care.
