“Give yourselves to disciplined instruction; open your ears to tested knowledge.”

I’m a part of a book club where I’m the youngest person by 40 years. Yes you heard that right, 40! There’s one other girl besides me, but the rest are men with master’s degrees and PhD’s. They are scholars, theologians, successful businessmen, priests, pastors and retired professors… and then there’s me. Lol. (Insert Sesame Street theme song… “One of these things is not like the others.”)

But.

I go because they are all deeply passionate about discussing how faith, theology and logic might look when we choose to live like Jesus. I need this. I want this. I desire this in my life.

Why?

Because Proverbs 23:12 is the call.
Proverbs 23:12 is the challenge.
Proverbs 23:12 is the purpose.

Be disciplined.
Seek instruction.
Test.
Try.
Ask.
Question.
Learn.
Grow.
Wrestle.
Understand.
Pursue.

Open your ears.

And you wanna hear something else that’s cool?

They all attend because they too believe they still have more to learn. Coolest.Thing.EVER!

This is wisdom resolution.
