Truth To Hear

From Bottom To Top

By January 4, 2017 No Comments

My mother-in-law sent me the coolest thing yesterday.

She saw this note floating around Facebook (sorry I can’t credit the source) and I thought it was such a great visual of what it means to see and live life differently – as in – right here, right now, this new year, this fresh start, this brand new beginning and this brand new chapter of 2017.

Because sometimes turning things around takes a load off… and seeing things backwards sheds a brighter light… and flipping things inside out and upside down helps us paint a better picture of ourselves, our circumstances and the world around us.

Case in point: this story. Read on.

From bottom to top. How cool.

So here’s a thought…

Isn’t this exactly what Christ is continually doing for each of us?

He reaches down to the very bottom of our pain, our hurt, our frustrations, our confusion, and our discouraging circumstances, and picks us up. He flips our words around, gives us a new way of seeing things, and rewrites a whole new version of our stories so people find hope and direction as they “read” our lives.

The world thinks a great day is all about being on top and avoiding the bottom. But along comes Christ to say, the last shall be first and the first shall be last. A.k.a, from bottom to top. This is His style.

“We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” –Romans 8:28

But perhaps life is not about adding more things to your already lengthy list, but rather, about pausing in the midst of it all to consider if what you're doing is really important.
