I read the coolest thing the other day.
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle. Exodus 13:17-18
Here’s what I find encouraging and I hope it encourages you too.
God doesn’t always work in the way that seems best to us, right?
Instead of guiding the Israelites along the direct route from Egypt to the Promised Land, he took them by a longer route – a route that took them through extraordinary miracles and surrounded them with God’s faithfulness.
Basically, He positioned them to receive and experience a wild faith adventure that could have never happened had they went the easier, shorter, quicker, nicer, more comfortable, explainable and predictable route.
So…
If God does not lead you along the shortest path to your goals, it’s okay. Trust Him. He can see your journey from beginning to end and knows the best route.
