I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

~Philippians 4:11-13

It’s never ending.

I wish I was taller. Prettier. Skinner.
I wish I had blonde hair. Curly hair. Thick hair.
I wish I could paint. Draw. Teach. Sing. Dance.

I wish I had an important job. A different career. A prestigious position.
I wish I had more power. More money. More influence. More time.
I wish I had a bigger home. A new vehicle. A boat. A vacation home.

I wish I had kids.
I wish I was married.
I wish I was happily married.

I wish I lived somewhere warmer. Cooler. Bigger.
I wish I lived near the ocean. The mountains. The big city.
I wish I were at a different stage, age, phase of life.

It’s never ending.

Yesterday I read this:

What you take for granted, someone else is praying for. What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?

Ouch. Yikes.

That quote got me thinking…

My life is amazing. So is yours. Even with all the hardships, the abounding tears, the never-ending cycles of roller coaster emotions, it’s still amazing. Seeing the beauty amidst the flaws IS what makes a heart grow fonder….it IS what makes a life amazing… it IS how you practice thankfulness. This is gratitude.

So I’ve decided I’m gonna spend one whole month focusing on all the things that make my life amazing.

Why?

So joy and love and appreciation and blessing and happiness and celebration and kindness and a heart of thankfulness can ooze out of every single pore of my body. So in turn I can bless others.

Carving Out Time For God In The Midst Of Your Busy Life

With a million things to do and not enough hours in the day to get it done, it's easy to zone out and slip into autopilot in order to survive. But perhaps life is not about adding more things to your already lengthy list, but rather, about pausing in the midst of it all to consider if what you're doing is really important.
