“Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.” -Colossians 3:2-4
It’s easy to feel bogged down by the weight of this world. Life can be overwhelming. Schedules can feel chaotic. Responsibilities can feel futile.
I’m a total thinker and when I let my mind go there, it finds all kinds of rabbit trails to lead me down…. “down” being the operative word. When my mind goes down, so goes my heart, my emotions, my perspective, my day… which is why it’s of the utmost importance to take today’s lead from 2 Corinthians 4:18 and think up.
”So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
Spend time today pondering how beautiful heaven really will be… a place of joy where the sound of weeping and crying will be heard no more (Isaiah 65:19)… a place beyond our wildest imaginations – made of gold, glass, precious stones, emerald and pearls, all illuminated by the glory of God (Revelation 21:18,19,21,23)… a place with matchless blessing where we will be transformed into Christ’s likeness (1 Corinthians 15:52)… a place of great love and righteousness – where death and sorrow will be gone forever and where He will wipe every tear from our eye (Revelation 21:4).
I leave you with wise words from C.S. Lewis:
