Have you ever read a passage of scripture where it felt like God followed it up with a, “P.S. I promise”? That’s what it felt like for me this week while reading a variety of passages. It was as if He wanted to clarify that what I was reading wasn’t a suggestion, or a possibility, or a nice idea, but it was in fact, truth.
The Bible tells us we can hold full confidence in His promises because Christ is not in the business of breaking them – as clearly demonstrated by, in, on, and through the cross.
So for today’s devotional I’m sharing five passages of scripture that struck me as promises this past week. I pray they encourage your heart just as much as they did for me.
- He will go with you, sustain you and strengthen you.
”My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.” Psalm 89:21-22
- He will deliver you – no matter what.
”He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” Psalm 18:19
- Even if chaos abounds, you will experience perfect peace.
”You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
- You will have the things you need.
”Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.” Psalm 34:9
- He will guide you through the rough spots and help you do the right things.
”He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.” Psalm 25:9
